How to Get Big Air off Jumps
by: Matt Belair

The snowboard academy’s training is completely unique to any coaching on or offline.
Every trick you do you should prepare by training 3 ways.

1. Mental Training
2. Physical Training
3. Focused Training

How to Get Big air and do your first jumps

1. To hit jumps you should at least be able to confidently turn on both edges

2. Always remember to take enough speed to make the transition (the downslope)

3. Remember to start small and work your way up to bigger jumps

4. Approach the jump with hand over the tip and tail of your board legs bent and in a confident controlled position

5. Make your speed checks well before the jump and as you ride up the jump in a balanced position look into the air where you are about to go.

6. At first only just ride off the jumps. As you become more comfortable make sure you take off with both feet and begin extending your legs at the lip.

7. Suck your legs up grab the board and stomp your landing.
